@Justin Bieber hahaha. That's probably true, yeah. That picture is a close up. If you hold your fingers the size of a nickel to the sky- there are 100,000 galaxies just in that nickel sized circle.
The estimation is that we have over 1 billion other planets in our galaxy that would be able to sustain life.
The up loader and followers have parents that did them a disservice. Too bad for them, they'll be disappointed... Oh wait, no, they will be dead in the dirt. As will we all.

Look at the way many act nowadys, promoting aggressive war, denying basic services such as health care to people..talking about many of the republicans here. @Rowhan Obviously religion isn't the only reason people become the things you said but it does stand to reason that a percentage of evil has come from religion. But it's also come from non-religious view points too. Religion just makes for a very strong platform to push a crude agenda. On the opposite side of that very good things have happened because of religion. For example there's many charities that come from different religions that are very helpful. How many gods are currently believed in? I can't remember but I do remember that millions of people have died arguing over who's god was best. Mine is best, No mine is best. Ok lets fight. You die this time, I'll die next time and what do we get? NOTHING. Oh wait, that's not true. You get to believe in a land that you have never seen but a flimsy ever changing book tells you is there. @ingasuma no you precisely missed the point... we don't believe the universe was made for us, quite the opposite - we believe we are a tiny speck of existence in a universe filled with other undiscovered life. It's not for us, we are just a tiny tiny part of it. It's the Christians who think this was all made just for them... and thus the ironic, sarcastic quote

Some people are fanatical in their religious beliefs. And some people are fanatical in their anti-religious beliefs.
Both can be scary, but I think it's funny when Atheists replace their lack of religious belief with a belief in any and all conspiracy theories. It's like, as humans, we have a natural tendency to want to believe there's order. If it's not from a God, we replace it with a government, or Jews, or something else that we perceive to be powerful and "in control".

@Elk Snot Yeah but the difference between religion and conspiracy theories is the conspiracies almost always have SOME evidence even if it's thin and shaky at best where as there is NO proof of a god other than books written in an age where everything that happened that no one knew what it was was simply explained as an act of god.

@elbobbo Honestly, and I'd really like to believe some of them, but I truly believe that conspiracy theories have become the new religion. People will believe them no matter how much evidence you show them to the contrary. It's like people just need something to believe in, and they ruled out religion, so they turn to the internet.

@hershism All all believers in God think that way. There is a heck of alot that scripture torah, new testament, quran, doesn't talk about..and just because it isn't in there doesn't mean it doesn't exist. I believe God created the universe, and that there is a better than average chance that other life forms exist on other worlds that He created as well. But yes, it does seem that many evangelists immediately discount the possiblity of life in space.
