    • @Justin Bieber hahaha. That's probably true, yeah. That picture is a close up. If you hold your fingers the size of a nickel to the sky- there are 100,000 galaxies just in that nickel sized circle.

The estimation is that we have over 1 billion other planets in our galaxy that would be able to sustain life.

The up loader and followers have parents that did them a disservice. Too bad for them, they'll be disappointed... Oh wait, no, they will be dead in the dirt. As will we all.

  • Religion - the arrogant, ignorant, evil, self-centred, delusion that believing in an all powerful sky fairy gives you the right to belittle, abuse, torture, judge, rape or even execute someone that doesn't think the same way as you.

Yeah I'm not sure which religion you're referring to.....certainly not christians.

      Posted Oct-30-2012 By

    • @tymatthews Applies to christians...not christianity as it was preached. Look at the way many act nowadys, promoting aggressive war, denying basic services such as health care to people..talking about many of the republicans here. (Im a registered on myself) Not that Jesus didn't roll up his sleeves and whip some ass in the temple...but many of these modern day neo-cons worship the flag, not God and seem to be very lacking in compassion.

    • @Rowhan Obviously religion isn't the only reason people become the things you said but it does stand to reason that a percentage of evil has come from religion. But it's also come from non-religious view points too. Religion just makes for a very strong platform to push a crude agenda. On the opposite side of that very good things have happened because of religion. For example there's many charities that come from different religions that are very helpful. Sometimes we judge entire religion More..

  • How many gods are currently believed in? I can't remember but I do remember that millions of people have died arguing over who's god was best. Mine is best, No mine is best. Ok lets fight. You die this time, I'll die next time and what do we get? NOTHING. Oh wait, that's not true. You get to believe in a land that you have never seen but a flimsy ever changing book tells you is there. Heaven or Valhalla or whatever your particular religion calls it. Have fun with that.

  • Yes you know because IF it was created for our benefit why make it so fucking huge?

    Posted Oct-30-2012 By

    (4)

  • And you are an egocentrical/self-worshiping piece of shit, who thinks the universe was made for your benefit.

    Posted Oct-30-2012 By

    (4)

    • @ingasuma no you precisely missed the point... we don't believe the universe was made for us, quite the opposite - we believe we are a tiny speck of existence in a universe filled with other undiscovered life. It's not for us, we are just a tiny tiny part of it. It's the Christians who think this was all made just for them... and thus the ironic, sarcastic quote

    • @hershism
Then that quote is misleading, (for me and many others here), I thought you were a egocentric Christian (any Christian, for that matter.).

    • @ingasuma
The earth and the universe was made by God. The earth made for man. There is no talk of life in the bible outside the earth but doesn't mean that other life doesn't exist. Might be....but nothing as of yet.

  • This kind of double flip sarcasm is beyond hillbilly capabilities so ... it will backfire!

You gotta tell them straight up: God did not create the unbelievable huge Universe just to make one, out of millions of Earth species living on this teeny insignificant little planet - HIS personal work of faith.

Why would God do that? Even Mitt limits his contribution to hurricane sufferers to the use of his bus for only a few days!

That simple so that means God is the Devil in Disguise.

Not attacking anything or belief. It's just logic and logic does not exist in Religion.

Religious people think for themselves and like mined people....

I guess you avoided the part that said I'm not attacking anything or belief....It's just logic...

I guess you will judge yet again after this....'

So I guess you are with out sin.... So cast your stone again..

  • Some people are fanatical in their religious beliefs. And some people are fanatical in their anti-religious beliefs.

Both can be scary, but I think it's funny when Atheists replace their lack of religious belief with a belief in any and all conspiracy theories. It's like, as humans, we have a natural tendency to want to believe there's order. If it's not from a God, we replace it with a government, or Jews, or something else that we perceive to be powerful and "in control".

    Posted Oct-30-2012 By

    (3)

    • @Elk Snot Yeah but the difference between religion and conspiracy theories is the conspiracies almost always have SOME evidence even if it's thin and shaky at best where as there is NO proof of a god other than books written in an age where everything that happened that no one knew what it was was simply explained as an act of god.

      Posted Oct-30-2012 By

      (4)

    • @elbobbo Honestly, and I'd really like to believe some of them, but I truly believe that conspiracy theories have become the new religion. People will believe them no matter how much evidence you show them to the contrary. It's like people just need something to believe in, and they ruled out religion, so they turn to the internet.

      Posted Oct-30-2012 By

    • @Elk Snot I find a lot of them quite interesting but if it doesn't make it to court and win i never fully buy any theories.

    • @Elk Snot there's a new conspiracy out there. zombie jesus. since i dont believe in religion, but believe in (preparing for) the zombie apocalypse, well then, zombie jesus happened.

    • @LSDforuandme Nah I think it's arrogant that christians think this was all created for earthly humans and they reject that there's other life out there... 'if the bible doesn't say it, it ain't true' (in my best hillbilly accent)

NO one says there can't be life elsewhere.....Who told you that?

      Posted Oct-30-2012 By

      (-1)

    • @hershism All all believers in God think that way. There is a heck of alot that scripture torah, new testament, quran, doesn't talk about..and just because it isn't in there doesn't mean it doesn't exist. I believe God created the universe, and that there is a better than average chance that other life forms exist on other worlds that He created as well. But yes, it does seem that many evangelists immediately discount the possiblity of life in space.

      Posted Oct-31-2012 By

    • @LSDforuandme I don't think it was created for human beings period, we're such a small spec in the grand line of time that there's no way that after all these billions of years... suddenly all of that time was just for us.

"Every account of a higher power that I've seen described, of all religions that I've seen, include many statements with regard to the benevolence of that power.
