Somalia - "Life despite war" (Oct.2009)
For 18 years Somalia has been at war with itself.
"We've really seen everything: hunger, death, everything," says one Somalian, looking at the ruins of capital Mogadishu.
With the city embroiled in a turf war, and civilians constantly caught in the crossfire, 18,000 shell-shocked Somalians have fled.

Over 50,000 have moved to my state of Maine (Poplation 1.2 Million) They general are very respectful and hard working people. Their families operate communally in regards to income. When one family member needs a car, they all pool money. That's how they have maintained such a stable co-existence here. These people are coming from a horrific place.

Maine has that many jobs available? Seriously, what are they doing for a living in Maine, which has an 8.5 percent unemployment rate?
Beautiful state though. I miss the two years that I spent living in Wiscasset while working at Maine Yankee.
