COLUMBUS, Ohio
A man accused of grabbing a woman's purse was apprehended by witnesses to the crime, police say.
According to Columbus police, a 62-year-old woman cashed a check at the Kroger at 3600 Soldano Blvd. at 10:47 a.m. Monday.
As the she was exiting the store, police said that Richie Dennison, 38, came from behind and grabbed the woman's purse, causing her to fall over a motorized grocery cart and onto the ground.
Police said that Dennison was apprehended by witnesses as he ran through the parking lot. The witnesses detained Dennison until police arrived.
After being transported to Columbus police headquarters, Dennison admitted to taking the purse, according to police.
The woman was treated by medics at the scene and was later transported to an area hospital.
