This is in Yellowstone National Park, about 60 miles from where I live. Roughly 6 people get gored or trampled by bison in the park every year.
BTW... every person that enters Yellowstone is given a bright yellow flyer with a drawing of a tourist being thrown into the air by a buffalo and the words "DO NOT APPROACH THE BISON!" in about ten different languages.

Yeah most people a freaking morons when it comes to wildlife. Especially Yellowstone, they think it's a theme park and not a nature preserve. Years ago I remember hiking with some 'novice to nature' freinds in Yellowstone between Shoeshone lake and Picthstone. We were in a elevated area that overlooked part of the lake and a large meadow about 700 meters across. Out in the distant a friend points out 6 or 7 "doggies" about 500 meters away. If you haven't already, you should read the book "Death in Yellowstone". It documents every death in Yellowstone for the park's entire history up to about 1995. You'd be amazed at how many people have gotten their Darwin Award in YNP.

Was meaning more foreigners on those farm experiences getting to close to large, similar sized beasts, or 'playing' with those big parrots called keas, very sharp beaks!
