These scenes seems awfully familiar but all of these horrible accidents were virtually involving Korean drivers.

    • @TTTorosaurus - My oldest kid (girl) is in the Army (medical) right now & stationed in Seoul. Every night we Skype & she tells me it is just NUTS how they drive & the accidents she's seen.

    • @TTTorosaurus ; I was thinking it was a bus tire explosion.

Oh yah, they drive like maniacs there. Following traffic regs is strictly optional for all vehicles and would be a deviation from the norm for motorcycles and scooters. Add in the high alcoholism and binge drinking rates and things get much worse at night. I believe they have the highest car crash fatality rate in the OECD and that should be no surprise to anyone who has witnessed the chaos firsthand.

  • That first one looks more like a bomb!

  • I currently live in South Korea (military) and yes, the driving here is absolutely terrible. The rules are merely a suggestion and if you're not a complete dickhead on the road (and driving as offensively as possible), you will get absolutely nowhere in this traffic. Turn signals are also the exception, not the rule.

  • To move the bus into the air and the other vehicles around the first was definitely a bomb/ underground gas explosion. That was more than the force of any tyre.

  • Have visited many countries from the most advanced to the most primative and South Korea had the scariest driving I've ever witnessed.

  • Well, the second isn't from South Korea.

However, these videos are actually quite tame. People cannot drive properly here, or I suppose I should say they are not taught how to drive here.

    Signals: optional and hardly used
Red lights: optional for cars/non-existent for scooters
Speed traps and light cameras: notified where each is by GPS
    Blind spots: what's that?
Drinking and driving: let's just say there is at least one BIG wreck each weekend in the early morning hours out front of my apartme More..

I ran down one night with my phone and thought about taping the aftermath. Couldn't do it. People hysterical and shit. I'm a watcher, not a taper I suppose.

  • So many people should never ever be given a set of keys to a vehicle. I know accident's happen, but the majority of these are caused by not paying attention.
