Safe Mode: On
Federally contracted workers strike,March on White House

On the 25th of September, contract workers at Federal buildings like the
Ronald Reagan building walked off the job and demanded that they be
paid a living wage and benefits.
The end point at the White House came with a demand that Obama grant
contract workers a living wage by executive order. One poster showed
Obama's face as in the 2008 campaign with text simply reading "Help!"

This is the continuation of a series of strikes and walkouts at
buildings like Union Station and the Ronald Reagon building, where
contract workers in such fields as food service get paid minimum wage or
otherwise so little that they have to choose between paying rent and
buying food.
