Black boxes from Airbus detected

According to the French newspaper Le Monde a very weak signal was detected from the black boxes of the crashed Airbus.
French recovery vessels detected the signals on Monday.
The mini submarine "Nautile" is being used to pinpoint their exact location which will be difficult because it's in an rouch area with steep gaps and abysses and depths around 5000m.

  • quit freaking out..

For every ONE person that dies on a Boeing or Airbus, TEN THOUSAND die in car accidents. It's just life, people. If you walk out your front door, you risk dying. These poor bastards were in the wrong place, at the wrong time, on the wrong plane...

    Shit happens.

    RIP.

  • This confirms everything that I read in the Onion: the AirFrance tragedy seems to have been caused by a gigantic plane crash.

  • no quiet down and make a black box that can inflate under 5000 feet of water, and float to the surface.

if ur such a smartie pants lol

    • I don't think you appreciate how difficult it is to make something that can survive a 500mph impact AND float. A formula one car survival cell costing millions of dollars maybe can just barely survive 250mph crash, but not even that is water-tight. MAYBE it could be made water tight, but again that would add even more expense. And I'm not sure it would be lighter than water even if it was water-tight. I would guess the least expensive option would be to attach a buoyant airbag that would in More..

  • Why do you think the wings flew off?

  • They are now saying Black boxes have not been detected.

  • It's amazing how stupid the airlines are... Such a massive lack of common sense on so many fronts. Hundreds of people can die in a flight because there are no fire-detectors on the aircraft. And, black boxes are lost forever, because nobody has the sense to make them float.

    • there are fire detectors on airplanes.

maybe not in the passenger areas. But I can %100 guarantee that smoke detectors and fire extinguishers are in the luggage compartments.

Making a black box that floats is easier said than done.

    • Making a black box that floats is the simplest thing in the world. You attach it to something buoyant. People have had the necessary technology for 50,000 years.

And a lot of people have died due to simple lack of fire detection on these big jets. The pilots don't know anything is wrong until they've completely lost all control.

    • its not that simple. you can''t just wrap a black box in a life jacket and expect it to float.

And yes there are smoke detectors in an airplane. 1/8 of the weight of a commercial airplane is pure jet fuel.

Lets just put a plane up in the air with two tonnes of jet fuel without training pilots and crew about extinguishing fires on a commercial airliner.

    • Did you see me say there are no fire-detection systems? Hundreds and hundreds of people have died due to a lack of extremely fire-detection sensors though. It's just a fact. Telling me over and over that airplanes do have some, doesn't change that.

And, anyone who cannot design a black-box that floats, is far far too stupid to be designing black-boxes in the first place.

    • Your stupid there is no such thing as a FIRE DETECTOR.

there called SMOKE DETECTORS. Why don't you get started on a floating black box right now. If you could make one that works you might make a lot of money.

lol fire detector stupid lepercon believing cheeseburger eating high school drop outs.

THERES NO SUCH THING AS A FIRE DETECTOR U MOROM

    Extremely simple that is.

  • stone pony thinks there is a such thing as a fire detector. what a dumb f***

SMOKE DETECTOR U RETARD, and air planes do have smoke detectors.
