Hand held farking fire extinguishers? what the hell is this a camping trip? they got the job done faster than it would have taken a tanker/firetruck to get there though....

most tracks have multiple fire trucks stationed around the track, at least here in the states they do. must have different regulations in the Czech Republic

Horrible response from the Fire Crews. Terrible. Should have at the very least had a fast response pick up truck with a skid mounted tank or bladder full of aqueous foam like we use for brush fires. They let that guy cook. Bad form.
I read the guy is in intensive care, I doubt he will ever race again. Those kinds of injuries he received are burned into his psyche.

That's racing. Fire rescue doesn't get much better than that considering the wreckage was all twisted around him. I don't know why people would expect it to be much better. If you had a wreck like that on the freeway, you'd probably be trapped for 10 minutes or more.

Mental note: do not catch fire in Czech, apparently the fire brigade there don't have fire hoses . . .

I'm surprised how poorly the car protected and restrained the driver, especially since it is specifically designed for racing. It doesn't compare to F1 or NASCAR in that regard.
Also that firetruck looked at least 50 years old.
