First zero emissions city in the world Masdar City (UAE)
Masdar City project is still in early stages of development. It gives you an idea what sustainable futuristic city would look like. Too bad this isn't happening in the west where we throw billions around like its nothing. This entire project by Abu Dhabi reportedly cost only $19 bn and is slowly but steadily being built.

its a pity that only the smaller arab states like the UAE, Qatar and Bahrain actually contribute to the development of humanity, not its destruction like the rest of the ME.

Dubai is even worse with its money. It's still $60 billion in debt.
Masdar City will still be a dystopia no matter how modern it'll look. The reason is because it's in a muslim country, and muslim countries operate like they're still in the 4th century. Foreign workers & women will be treated like garbage.

its not happening in the west because for once we'll let somebody else build it first then learn from their mistakes instead of the other way around.

While I applaud the effort and believe energy efficiency is necessary; the zero emissions title simply cannot be without negating actual emissions; and THERE ARE NO BUSINESSES, or manufacturing here: JUST A SCHOOL!
