    • @LickMyDuck The user you are reply to is probably (as the flag suggest) a Canadian, but in any case, even in Democracy, an elected by the people "power" may change to tyranny - not to mention that the right to to have guns is constitutional, and one reason for that been so none (not even a majority) can take it away (without a revolution at least, or a change from a vast majority).

    • @dorbie They are selective quotations but they illustrate that one of our founding fathers staunchly believed in altering the Constitution as time change. The gun enthusiasts commonly come from the viewpoint of every word in the Constitution is sacred and cannot be altered, and then often follow it up with "I will share the beliefs of our founding fathers, not the gun control crowd". I am sure you understand why I posted the link. Just an explanation.
