Over $61 billion (and still rising). Unknown billions went to bonuses for the CEOs of the firms. Only 3.3 billion was allocated for the programs to help homeowners. Only God knows where all that money went. There was no oversight or accountability. They ( the firms ) contributed to the financial crises knowing the risk they were taking and STILL benefited greatly off their failed financial endeavors at the tax payers expense.
