  • Only the end is shown.

The cops were all gathered around this guy for a reason.

Whatever led to this is not shown in order to present anti-police propaganda.

Whether you like cops or don't, this is a dishonest piece of propaganda.

It's as 'honest' as an Arab Spring video.

There is a reason simple ppl are not suitable to run a gov because they always prove to be short sighted

Btw the only reason the cops showed up there was because other street performers called them.

  • The video and the video comments once again prove that no matter what you do as a law enforcement official, no matter how you do it, the cop hating sheep will always find something to bitch about. I can't wait to retire, go back into the private sector and bitch about the police all day. We actually had people throw a soda and a chair at me and my sergeant last night for pulling a serial rapist out of a apartment last night. He didn't want to go so we had to place him on the ground and handcu More..

  • A great example of how fucked up the world is today.
Cops protecting the population from being entertained on the street while thugs rule the back lanes and alley ways....
    Heroes!!! wait...I meant zeros.

And that's not a mistake, either. It's intentional. The police essentially represent an occupying army, whose sole purpose is to protect the ruling class from the lower, ruled classes.

That's who the cops really "protect and serve".

      I know, sadly.
Cops are a required evil that we employ to protect us from real evil.
They have morphed into nothing but servants of the elite and a 'clean up crew' for the rest of us.
Cheers to them recovering thier integrity and pride!

    • @mytwocents

This is a common fallacy. Cops are not a required evil, as there is nothing necessary about evil. Evil should be shunned at every turn.

Modern government police forces, which are essentially just monopolies, could be replaced with free market alternatives.

WHOA! Did you ever get that wrong!
Imagine a world without police..utter chaos!
      Why?
Because people are self centred greedy indifferent to the suffering of others even while being responsible for it....hence the need. That is the evil I suggested, not an individual officer.

Policing for profit is complete lunacy! Think about it!

You already have jails for profit, add armed thugs to populate them and your society is done. Period.

The one aspect of socialism that I don't hate is po More..

So by your definition all cops should be tougher than all of the criminals they encounter? Would YOU want to be a cop under those circumstances? I'm guessing not.

    • @Notfromaroundhere Did I give my definition of what a cop should be? Do you always put words into other peoples mouths? And what makes you think I would WANT to be a cop under ANY circumstances ?!?!

I don't have what it takes to be a cop because I am not a power hungry asshole who gets off on acting like I rule the fucking world and everyone better cower before me or I will taze their ass till the Tazer battery dies, then beat them into a coma with 5 of my fellow bullies.

  • Holy F---!! I know this guy, not personally. This takes place in Old Montreal, near the horse carriages and the water. I have seen this guy performance before. I think he rides on a tall unicycle for his act. There are a lot of street performers in that area. Don't know why, after all this time, they would arrest him or stop him from making a living. He is a very nice guy.

"The permit system is nothing new,has been in place for at least fifteen years."

How does this make it right, though? Why should there be a permit system for someone who just wants to juggle or sing on the street?

Why do fascists like you want to destroy all that's beautiful and free in the world?

Permit for what? Standing in a public place? No matter what you earn or how you earn it the man always wants to take it off you.

    Same all over the world.

  • This is one thing I don't get from the ones complaining. Fee's of this sort are of the local nature. These are usually imposed by the local business owners and such who complain to their town board who puts in the bans. Sometimes they are statewide like the hot dog venders in Maryland need to have a license and register their cart. That isn't the case in a state like Maine.

The thing is, if you don't want to comply with the law then fucking MOVE. It's called going with your feet. What do you t More..
