Alien Nation ran from 1989 to 1990, one season with 22 episodes. The series was based on the movie of the same name, with notable differences. The show was supposedly cancelled due to FOX network having financial troubles. The scuttlebutt at sci-fi conventions leads to other speculation, but whatever not important. After about a four year hiatus and a change in management at FOX the series was continued in the form of five made for TV movies.

There is also talk of reviving the series on the Syfy channel with writer Tim Minear. Who worked along side Jos Whedon on Angel and Firefly. Minear's credentials alone makes me somewhat curious about the possibilities for a new show based on this series.

A good time to bring up that there had to be some limits to the scope of this project. One such, when is something considered retro? So I had to draw an arbitrary line in the sand.
So, this Retro series for now will include only shows that began broadcast from 1989 or before. It's okay if they ran after 1989 just as long as they started on or before. Alien Nation is a good example, another is married with children. Which started in 1987 but continued to 1997. The theme I choose for Married wit More..

It was TNG by that time. Had a few clunker episodes but was a cool show on average. Somewhat limited in scope but definitely watchable. Intro to TNG and TOS will be up eventually.

I'm an admirer of Don Bluth's work. I have a couple of autographed cells from The Secret of NIMH, one of my favorite books as a kid. Best thing he could have done leaving Disney and starting his own production company.

Oh yea I remember this....district 9 is one of the best versions of this story since the initial series.
They used to get drunk on sour milk, and were burnt by salt water.. Like slugs
Great story line use to love 2000ad and the origanal judge dreed comic series... Fucken classic!

the lyrics I believe are actually some names sung backward. A lot of the alien language was english backward actually. I can't remember who's names they used. Some producers daughter and wife or something.
