Critical Mass DC joins with hundreds strong "Full Moon Ride"

On the last day of August, entering Labor Day weekend, DC's Critical
Mass bike ride ended at a surprise: hundreds of bicyclists gathered by
the Convention Center for a "Full Moon Ride" organized by a local bike shop.

Critical Mass has already been in the streets maybe an hour and a half,
and riders had raced on the Hains Point roads for the second month in a
row. Now something much bigger was about to start.

The Full Moon ride took over the streets for real, with hundreds of
riders stretching block after block. There was a stopover by the US
Capitol lasting maybe 1/2 hour, followed by the second half of the ride
through NE and then back to NY Ave by the Convention Center.

    • @EmrysM I dont understand that comment. If someone attends every gathering, protest, rally or convention so what? Shows they are doing a dam site more than you. Maybe you are just a Key Board warrior? Yeah that is it

    • @Anon_Online Original comment deleted for insults and personal attacks. For those following the thread, the poster whined that I am at "all" the protests and direct actions, which of course is impossible anyway.

Some of those armchair commandoes who troll my posts would not know what to do out in the real streets. They whine and moan but do nothing about it when their paychecks get gutted and the CEO gets a raise, or when the weather goes %^^&*& crazy and all scientists agree More..

    • @dcdirectactionnews See I can just write my governor, or speak to senators who come by the houses in my area every now and then to speak with people at their homes and are most often willing to discuss issues. Standing in large groups disturbing the peace doesn't fix anything.

    • @EmrysM That's BS. The Vietnam War was not ended by writing letters, as young men facing the draft did not have the campaign cash to get their voice heard that way. That took massive refusal to comply with the draft, massive protest marches, student strikes, and more. Why do you think not even George W Bush dared to bring back the draft? Not because he thought people might write letters!

If you think this doesn't work today, ask any banker about why Huntingdon Life Sciences can't get a bank acc More..
