FreedomWorks advocates people being 'aggressive' at town hall meetings.

Igor Volsky and FreedomWorks President Matt Kibbe discussed the astroturf campaign many right-wing groups (including FreedomWorks) are engaged in to disrupt health care town hall meetings across the country with members of Congress.

Last week, FreedomWorks Vice President Max Pappas boasted about "blowing" the town halls "apart" and declined to try to get the group's members to "calm down."

  • I have to say, I'm just loving the meltdown. The Democrats can't agree among themselves to pass a bill. In the meantime they're having fits that other "communities" are getting organized and asking questions of politicians.

The very same people that said "get in people's faces" and "argue with them". The same people with the massive astroturf machines of Moveon.org and "media matters" and the rent-a-mobs of ACORN and SEIU (the only people actually getin More..

  • What a joke. Liberal don't want a debate. Thats' the biggest reason dem's were trying to push this bill through so fast. They didn't want to give the American people a chance to find out exactly what's in the bill. The more we find out about the bill the less we like it.

  • Why's it called astroturf , is it because it's a fake grassroots thing .

  • "We always train folks" he said. I say they brain-wash folks. Who will lose money if we reform the health-care in America? HMO's, Insurance companies and Drug companies They are the ones who are trying to stop the reform.

    • Those of us who actually understand what's going on realize we'll all be losing (unless you're a power grabbing poltician) if "reform" including the bogus gov't option is passed.

You "hope and changers" are getting smaller and smaller. Everyone else gets it.

    • Then again, maybe you don't pay taxes, so you'll just be getting another freee ride.

    • How will we all be losing? By paying less for insurance?

The ones who lose out on reform ARE the politicians, the corporations, the insurance companies. Right now they have DC swamped with lobbyists paid by insurance companies with CEO's who take home millions of dollars a year. You wanna stick it to the politicians? Have a public option. Suddenly the insurance companies can't spend millions lobbying.

    • Why don't you explain the situation as you see it? I've paid taxes for 45 years now. I enjoy access to a Government/private health insurance and have had it for 30 years with very reasonable premiums. If you want to keep the HMO's, private insurance companies and drug companies in control so be it. Right now the private insurance companies decide which Doctors and which hospitals you can go to. They decide what services you are allowed to have coverage on. They decide how much they will pay for More..

America has been and is still being ripped off by multi-national corporations.

  • That's basically it... the minority Republicans have lowered themselves to liberal means of grabbing attention.

I find the whole thing hilarious as now they are saying, "well hey if the liberals can do it, why cant we lower ourselves to their pathetic ways"

It sure hasn't helped the liberal party out as they are still in the single digits.
I still can't figure out why they cannot blame Bush at all, I voted for him twice and I can acknowledge he fucked up the war, oil prices went More..

    • The fact is birtherstan is that numerous people were arrested for only wearing an anti-war t-shirt at many events for the last eight years. You and you're regressive ilk were laughing and calling everyone a terrorist supporters that disagreed with the illegal neocon madmen adventures that are still a failure. And now that Obama is POTUS he is doing the same stuff, Obama is a neocon. But you are not bright enough to understand he is covering for his fellow neocons, the Dumbya Regime. He should be More..
