Their purpose is to protect air bases, clear the area around air bases etc.

Because we are the RAF Reg ensure that our flightboys are secure, we hold airfields, we take airfields, we dominate the ground, using a show of force we let our presence be known.
the origins date back to ww2 when the army couldnt secure airfields for the RAF so they created the RAF Reg.
