Echo what mm-93 said, very lucky. This is one of my bigger fears while out riding.
This guy did everything right too, constantly checking his mirrors, left himself some room between himself and the car in front to get out of the way, covering his brakes and clutch - some idiot changes lane and rams him from behind :-(
Hope he wasn't hurt.

As a rider also, I disagree. If he was using his mirrors and aware, he would have switched into the right lane as soon as he saw the brake lights in front...plenty of room and time.
Never stop in the middle of the road. I agree about leaving room, but he did not use it. Could have been avoided. Why the hell did the car two ahead stop tho? I suspect the Asian woman in the green sweater is the driver!

watch his mirrors and you will see that in fact the driver of the car was in that lane the whole time and another car was in right lane
