      Wrong. If you are talking about present day Greece, it is in no way typical of a democracy. Their politicians have been amoral, greedy and corrupt for decades promising people all kinds of things to get re-elected. And now they are paying the price for living on non-existing (borrowed) wealth.

      A constitutional republic is a nice idea, but it seems it certainly is not working well in the US.

      The weak point in a democracy is the average voter. If the voters are ignorant enough, they`re more easily duped to voting some ruthless populist who preaches easy, over-simplified truths. In the case of the US: illegal aliens.
      (They do pose a problem, but they`re certainly NOT ruining your economy.)

      BTW, Churchill used to say that if you want to know what is wrong in a democracy, talk for 10 minutes with an average voter.
