Chippewa County, WI -- An SUV goes airborne on a highway in Wisconsin... and the whole incident is caught on camera. On Sunday, Theresa Reich and her brother-in-law stopped on an overpass to take a picture of Highway 29, where, because of the heat, the road had buckled.

"From the overpass we could see the big divets, but we'd stopped to take a picture of it because we'd seen a bunch of cars going over slowly, and scraping the underside of their cars. And they were kind of lining up and, you know, checking the damage," says Theresa.

While Theresa was trying to take a still picture, an SUV sped over the bump and went airborne. What she didn't realize, was that her video camera on her phone was rolling the whole time. "I'd accidentally got my phone into video mode, somehow," says Theresa. "When they landed, you could kind of just see the tires fly off to the side."

Theresa says after she saw the SUV go airborne, she started to call 911. "By the time I had exited picture mode I was, people were already walking out and dialing. We were pretty amazed at that too, that none of the oncoming traffic hit them too. Everyone seemed like they made it out okay. They were, you know, walking out of their car." Theresa says what she saw is something she will never forget. "I'm kind of shocked. You don't normally see that stuff in real life."

Both passengers in the S-U-V were taken to the hospital after complaining of neck and back pain. The pavement was repaired Monday afternoon and the road was reopened that night.
