  • I, on the other hand, would have been running out the door screaming like a little girl all the way to the parking lot.

  • Got to love the Icelandic, so relaxed :) Give it a day or two and they will be finding ways of driving monster jeeps through the new cracks in the Earth.

    • Theres faultlines running in the east too, now thats a place thats overdue. Does anyone remember the light tremmors way back in the 80's in Toronto, and again in early 90's. They were prety light but that area is way overdue for a biggie. Lots of old buildings in NYC, now that would be one hell of a disaster if that city got hit.

    • Charleston, South Carolina is as well. Last one here was 100 years ago and it was an 8.9 or something I believe. Structural damage was reported several hundred kilometers from Charleston (including central Alabama, central Ohio, eastern Kentucky, southern Virginia, and western West Virginia), and long-period effects were observed at distances exceeding 1,000 kilometers.

Effects in the epicentral region included about 80 kilometers of severely damaged railroad track and more than 1,300 square ki More..

  • I was in one about 7 years ago, the seattle one, i was at my sister in BC, scared the living shit outta me, was a little rougher then the one we just saw.

    • If this one was 6.3 on the Richter scale, the location of the video definitely wasn't at the epicenter. It would have been much more violent.

    • A little Rougher ???

Dude, I was in Olympia when the Nisqually Quake hit and let me tell you there was a BIG DIFFERENCE between that quake and the one seen here....

The Nisqually quake lasted 1:28 secs. this lasted 27 secs.

Add to the fact that it was the Strongest Quake the Seattle Area had seen in almost 45 years and It made for a shitload of scared people.....

We we're Lucky in 2001 that the Nisqually Quake wasn't a subduction Zone Quake as we probably would not be here to talk More..

    • U were in Seattle when that quake happened? wow, that musta been a scary experience, i was in Abbottsford BC when it happened, wich was about 600 miles from the epicentre of the quake and believe me! it was pretty fuking rough from where i was, can't imagine being right there.
Felt like the foundation of my sisters house was gonna give way from underneath us, also, it seemed like it lasted forever man, in actuallity, i don't think it lasted more then like 30 or 40 seconds at best!

    • Yea Man, I went through that 2001 Quake, And being I was in Olympia during that Earthquake which is only 14 miles away from the epicenter it shook for what seemed like an eternity but was actually around a 1:30 Sec.

The sensation in Olympia felt like I was inside a Chinese Wok that was being rolled and spinned around.

Eartquakes are No fun, but there even more intense when you the earthquake encompasess P and L shock waves....

It was Big Quake that released alot of energy and 2 differe More..

  • Earthquakes have never really scared me, not even the big ones. Of course...my house has never collapsed on me so maybe my feelings will change when the day comes.
