Flashovr's "Justiy" Moment
 Part of channel(s): Liveleakers (promoted)

The story is in this text, not the video. Play the video and read along if you will.....

This song and video marked a Specific Point in my Life when I decided to be successful.

In 2008, I was on the floor, crying, with a dead a family, without money and under severe accusation of a crime I did not commit. My life seemed over. I wanted it to be over. Everything was lost. Exausted, I fell asleep.

The next morning, I pulled myself up to my computer and by Grace or Luck I watched this video. Something inside me changed. There is something about this song and the characters in this video who fight desperately that gave me a reason to not give up.

I don't know why, but this single music video inspired be to become a very successful person that I am right now. Re-married, Profitable and I have a whole new Family as if that last one never left me.

I can not Justify my rebirth, but I share it you now.

Have you had a Specific life changing moment? If so, please share them in the comments below.

  • Flashovr, the interesting thing is, everyone's epiphany is already in them. It's inbred in everyone of us. All it takes is something to draw it out. Sometimes it's an event, sometimes people look back and realize that something happened but don't know when.

It's what makes us human and the greatest species alive on this planet.

  • One evening in June, 1976, I was fourteen years old and sitting on a bed in a hotel room outside Butte, Montana. I was on a family vacation. We were driving to the West Coast. The day before, I had visited the Battlefield at Little Big Horn where park personnel commemorated the centennial of the fight there. Then I saw some hype about the upcoming Bicentennial celebration and I was depressed over how phony it all seemed.

I turned on the television and some guy was discussing America. What he s More..

  • Flashovr, you're okay in my book: talented, intelligent, caring, and honest. Thanks for sharing a bit about yourself. I'm glad things worked out for ya.

If I had a "justify" moment it had to have been 9/11. That day has changed my life in so many ways that I can't explain. It set me on a new course in life, also. I'm a much better man for it now.

    Cheers

  • Flashovr: on march 20, 2012 i finally quit smoking weed. sounds trivial but i was an addict beyond belief. i would smoke in the morning before work, immediately after work, and until i went to sleep. if i woke up in the middle of the night to take a piss, i would smoke on my way back to bed. on my days off, i would smoke from the minute i woke up until the minute i went to bed. i secluded myself from friends and family and always blamed it on depression. i lived like this for over 10 years. i ca More..

Sounds like you have an addictive personality. For you it was cannabis but for other people it can be alcohol, cocaine, shopping, eating, anything that they find pleasurable. I'm glad you got over your "addiction to weed" but what you are describing sounds like something to do with your personality not the plant itself.

And I just reread your post and you said you just gave it up in March? When did you exactly start smoking in your life? For how long I mean

    • @Blklight i didn't start smoking weed until i was about 27, 28. i'm 40 now. and you're right, i do have an addictive personality. i'm working on that too. i come from a long line of alcoholics on both sides of my family. i have NOTHING against weed. i wish i could smoke casually once in awhile...but unfortunately I can't. :(

  • I like the music video, but the commentary is where it's at :)

To post something so personal takes a lot of courage and deserves to be acknowledged. To pose a question to people that requires some reflection and insight about our true self is an act of caring which I thank you for.

Thanks for the breath of fresh air...

    * being beat with a fireplace shovel for telling a father I didn't love him
    * the first time I fought someone..he was slapping me on the back of the head in 9th grade, I surprised him and put all my weight into shoving him in the chest causing him to crack his head on a wall in front of about 25 kids
    * the first time I saw real tits
    * huffing gas when I was seventeen, saved friends life after he tried to jump out of truck going 75 hav More..

"My life seemed over. I wanted it to be over."
did you really think about suicide?

killing your self is never the answer.

and if you do not mind sharing, what was the crime you were accused of?

  • ...Flashovr, there will I'm sure be many comments commending you for posting this, and I will whole heartedly join that chorus of thank you's also...I will add, the greatest thank you comes from those who are where you were, and without saying so, have been pulled up, dusted off and told things are not and are never as bad as they seem simply by what you have set in motion here - and for that you truly are to be thanked many times over...sharing personal faults, failures and shortcomings is diff More..

  • Thank you for having the courage to share, Flashovr. SpIderZ said it better than I could, I think.

I have thought about this for a while, and I can think of some things in my childhood and early teens - some very difficult times - that shaped me, some for the better, some not. But for most of my life, it was a process of experiences - wins and losses, things done well, things done badly - as opposed to "one defining moment". Probably would have gone on that way too except that, in 20 More..
