OLD SAYBROOK, CT
One person is dead and three others are hospitalized following a deadly boat collision on the Connecticut River.

Witnesses say a one boat began circling after its owner fell overboard.

It then collided with a sailboat, killing one woman on board and sending three more to the hospital.

After the collision a second boat approached the out of control vessel and was also hit.

That boat capsized, sending all on board into the water.

Several other boaters rushed in to pull the four from the water.

Investigators say the operator of the first boat who fell overboard was impaired at the time and will be charged with reckless operation while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
