At least nine people
have been killed in an improvised explosive device (IED) attack in
Kandahar province in southern Afghanistan.



The attack targeted seven Afghan policemen, a us. soldier and an
Afghan interpreter on Sunday morning, local administration chief of
Arghandab district Shah Mohammad said.

The police were told there is an IED. When they reached the area to defuse it, the bomb exploded .

The bomb was possibly remotely detonated

The explosion followed a series of violent bomb attacks and blasts
across the country with a deadly incident in the same province on
Thursday, which claimed the lives of two people.
