(March 11th, 2012) A shark feeding frenzy caught on ca,era, news and info below. A sea rescue helicopter spotted a school of sharks in a feeding frenzy unusually close to shore off the coast of Perth.

About 50 sharks were counted, including black tip whalers, bronze whalers and spinner sharks, some estimated to be over eight feet long. The animals were feeding on a school of tuna which were themselves feeding on a school of smaller bait fish.

A scientist from the Australian Department of Fisheries told local media that the event was unusual only in that it happened so close to shore. Yanchep beach just half a mile away was closed to swimmers for two hours before it was deemed safe.
