Albright - Killing 500,000 Iraqi Children Was Difficult Decision, Worth the Price
Part of channel(s): Connecticut School Shooting (current event)

This is a great example of why I am unimpressed with the response of the United States to the massacre of the 20 children in Newtown, Connecticut. If we as a country had a heart and mind working anything near healthy, we would be doing some serious soul searching over bigger issues than 20 American kiddies being killed by a derranged guy.

While lamenting with passion over these 20 kids in Connecticut, we lie to ourselves about the bloodthirsty character of our nation.

Listen to Madeline Albright explain how she feels about 500,000 Iraqi kids dead as a result of US led economic sanctions. It's only 23 seconds. Then tell me how bad you feel about the 20 killed in Connecticut today.

  • Voted. I've been saying this all day.

It's so funny to me that while we bitch about gun control our military is bombing other nations with unmanned flying vehicles. A program that boasts a 2% success rate meaning that for every target our drones kill 49-50 innocent people are killed and nobody seems to give a shit about that.

Coward, sociopath, evil...all of these words would accurately describe Adam Lanza. But somehow you can sign up to join the military and drop a bomb on a house full of chi More..

  • Spot on mate.

When we lose 20 kids, indeed it's a tragedy. When ANYONE loseses 20 kids it's indeed a tragedy no matter their fucking religion or ethnicity, if we're humans we should react as humans to the deaths of innocence no matter what part of the world they were born in.

This is what really pisses me off about all the pro-war individuals in any given community, they like to distance themselves and label the individuals or peoples they wish to criticise, they fail to see any common link be More..

Totally agree with you man. I am glad to read a decent comment here.
Most of the videos in this web make me think that the world is pretty fucked up..., but the worst thing are the comments. here is where I think: "We are screw!"

20 kids? It's not enough to feel bad according to US "democracy" standarts!

  • Retarded numbers from a retarded troll. And, almost all of those dead children were intentionally murdered by your Islamist heroes. So, yeah, you're an idiot.

    • @ST0N3PONY I would definitely agree with you, if you were correct.

Figures on Iraqi deaths caused by sanctions, the Bush invasion, and the Bush occupation are controversial, so anyone can find support for almost any claim.

The absolute lowest figures reported come from the US government, which estimates loss of innocent Iraqi lives in the neighborhood of 30,000 as of 2007. So even with these lowest of the low estimates, the death toll is 1000 times more than the Newtown death toll.

    • @CatEatDog And according to the terrorist defending anti-American UN, 80% of those innocent people were killed by the cave-nazis. You have to attach some extra kind of weak defense/rationalization.

Please feel free though. Explain to me why your cave-nazis are noble and America is evil.

America that has been following the strictest ROE in war history.

    • @ST0N3PONY I'll agree with you about the ROE, and it's a crime to put our people in that position.

Also agree that 80% of the deaths were at the hands of Iraqis, not US service members. Lot of losing sides over there, and groups were cleared out, ethnic cleansing style. My perception is Shiites fared best, but the Sunnis got in their licks and had an ass kicking coming.

Everything I am talking about here is from Bush invasion forward. I don't have any info on the 500,000 kids quoted by Lesl More..

    • @CatEatDog Listen to Christopher Hitchens. He completely shreds all of the anti-America bullshit on East Timor. It's no different from people lying and saying America slaughtered a million Iraqis and 500k children for fun.

      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axHR8AOxxkc

Off to bed, but I think he discusses it in there. It's not much different from any of the other "America causes all the world's ills" leftist nonsense issues. And he's good at ripping them all to pieces (like he does with More..

I agree...but really I think that the constant re occurance of these things should make the american public stand back and really look at the nature of their sociaty...this lady is the coldest sack of shit i have seen since the "iceman" interview. makes you wonder where she came from and who gave her the power of life and death of inncent kids

  • The U.S govt has their hands in everything from drugs to terrorism. Im not trying to talk down american ppl but the govt that runs your country is fucking corrupt to the core along with several other western govts. They wouldnt hesitate to kill a number of you to push their own agenda. The next thing they will try and take from you will be your right to bear arms. Imperialism is the highest stage of capitalism. • @live2die1212 The issue I have with your comment is the American people need to be talked down, because as a whole, we are high on something, and whatever it is, it is not good.

Flying the Canadian flag, you are not in the best position to criticize Americans, but I fly the American flag, so when I criticize us, I am talking about my own issues and that is fair game.

I am as guilty as any American, letting myself ignore the dark side of our nation. Americans have accomplished amazing things. More..

  • I remember reading an article that looked into these so called 500,000 deaths and they found the whole thing was a fabrication. They were counting abortions and anyone under 18 who died in an accident or natural causes. They even counted children of parents who immigrated. Also the over all number is an estimate not a literal number with a real head count.

    • @Penguinister Thank you for bringing some new information into this discussion.

For the sake of discussion, I am willing to believe the figure of 500,000 dead children as a result of sanctions is false.

However, I think the point of this discussion still stands. I have seen more than one video of Iraqi hospital doctors paging through log books, showing deaths as a result of the Bush occupation of Iraq. These accounts did not show totals, but they showed page after page of dead civilians with More..

    • @CatEatDog what the doctors notes don't show is how many deaths are secular and how many were caused by US soldiers.

    • @Penguinister Hi.. on another thread, we were discussing this. I think it is safe to say that the huge majority of deaths were at the hands of sectarian forces, not US forces.
