In 2003 when I posted on Yahoo board against the Iraq war, I used to get a shitload of crap from tons of people, especially military. I told them exactly what would happen. I even told them that it will only take the USA two weeks to defeat Saddam, I never lied. But I told them what would follow and the economic consequences and they made fun of me and threatened me, not that I cared.

@zecadr This is a true statement, the UN imposed sanctions, but would not back them up, the US had enough, someone had to make Iraq pay for not abiding by the sanctions they signed after Desert Storm.

That's the story they want you to believe. In reality, the US wanted war with Saddam and kept humiliating him with inspections knowing he'd eventually say no so they could use it as justification for war. If it took demanding to look up Saddam's ass for WMD's they would have done it. Any thing to get him to stop cooperating.

It was the UN doing the inspections but who do you think was telling UN when and where to inspect? It was the US. The UN inpections team had Americans on it and at one time the chief inspector in Iraq was Scott Ritter - an American.

As a soldier ,you believe what your told about why your going into harms way.You want to do right and you expect what you've been told what your doing is right.As you mature and start to question what you did and why,your left with more questions.I feel bad for Iraqi vets,being told about WMDs and 9/11,whatever it took to coherse these dedicated,loyal,brave men and women.
