November 6, 2010 - The State of Florida sponsered a "Beach Walk," to improve tourism. We were given a free t-shirt and told to walk a mile on the beach and take photos. And that's exactly what we did. Although I don't understand why they did this with oil still visable on the beach, as well as tar balls.

  • What oil spill??

    • Oh I don't know, maybe the one that occurred 100 plus miles away from Pensacola yet still managed to soak the beach in oil. Maybe it was that one... Sounds pretty small to me, I wonder why those damn hippies got so mad. I mean it's not like it takes a lot of oil to cover thousands of miles of beaches on oil...

    • Oh that one? Obama took care of that one. They used dispersant and the oil went away. Problem solved.

Lets not get carried away here guys..

    • Exactly LOL! In today's sound bite media, this is old news, and most people have already forgotten, as instructed by their TVs. For reminding people of this disaster, oops, I mean "spill", these 2 girls get props.

  • I was sure the BP snipers was going to take you out when you started digging. On the otherhand, it didnt look as bad as i thought it would, i'am sure after a hurricane or two all that oil and sludge will be gone, somewhere else but gone.
Didnt look like they had a very big turnout, i didnt see but one other person besides you two.
Thanks for sharing this video and the tip on the good food, if i'am ever in the area i'll be sure to stop in and try a bite,Take care,Rob

  • Thats nothing, think about all the dispersed oil and surfactants in the water column, 1000X worse.

  • Good to know the oil spill hasn't ruined Pensacola. Those petrol eating microbes in the Gulf have ruined many a libtards wet dream of an ecological disaster.
    Thanks for posting.

    • I agree, it really doesn't look that bad. Yeah the libtards can't complain about this one. Don't you hate it when people use national disasters for political gain? fucking assholes, those types.

  • Wow! that T Shirt was like a bed spread.

Jellyfish looked perfectly ok to me they have a dark ring around them naturally. Jellyfish do wash up perfectly normally too.
I could not see anything that I would get overly concerned about, conside5ring how bad the spill was.

I would quite happily let kids play there.

I thought we would see some oil, not some sand striations caused by algea and micro-organisms.

  • I was at Destin fifty miles east. I go there every year. I do it in the fall because I'm a cheap skate.

    1. Jellies and shells have always washed up on the beach. That's what happens when they die. There were about the same this year than usual.

    2. Fish and gull, dolphin and pelican population were the same. Live crab, muscle, clam, snail and slug population were about the same as as well. I actually saw more dolphin this year than usual.

    3. There were no traces of oil at all.

    4. Loca More..

  • Such fuss over tiny amount of oil. In the natural world there are oil shales and natural bitumen layers on a beach without any harm to the environment.
This is just another American attempt to demonise and destroy a European company. BP could just not win.

  • An interesting thing to consider is that at most 5 million barrels were spilled in the BP oil spill. The US uses a little over 20 million barrels of oil per day. So all the oil from the oil spill is only enough to satisfy the US demand for oil for 6 hours.

Think about that for a moment. We use a lot of oil!
