For five minutes, they dance through the school, lip syncing the
Katy Perry song 'Firework', jumping in and out on cue, creating a vision
of everything high school should be.A school spirit project has taken on a life of it's own.The video shot by students at the school was done in one take. To
those who know just a little about production, it is pretty impressive.
"The idea was that we want to recruit people to our school,"
explains Ben White, a senior at CHS who directed the video. "The target
audience was 8th graders."
Arneisha Robinson, a senior, knew it worked when a middle schooler approached her in a jewelry shop.
To get the single shot through the hallways, the director sat in a wheelchair with another student pushing him.









"She was like hey, do you go to Crestview High School? I was like
yeah," said Robinson. "Were you in that lip dub thing? Yeah, that was
me, that was me."

The crowd in the hallways isn't just the usual football game crew.



The Leadership Class recruited members of every team and group; more than 50 groups in all.



"How it makes the school look so unified and together was just awesome," said Tessa Brown.





The last shot, in the school gym, turned into an impromptu pep rally after the camera stopped rolling.



"I'm so proud of that ending thing," said White. "Everybody was
together, and the vastness of it, how many people were on that, that
wanted to be a part of it, was just amazing."

"It makes you miss high school," said Brown. "It makes you want
to come to high school and just be a part of something so much bigger
than yourselves."

Director Ben White says now that they've
made it to Channel 3, they're ready for their appearances on Ellen and
Good Morning America.
