@WagePeace Probably just a poor fisherman trying to feed the family.I would think a bamboo rod would have been better also..

@cfdfire bamboo is fine but these other rods cfdfire its a mess because they are carbon/graphite when its lighting and u are holding it in ur hand its like calling it to hit you.

Yes, very strange. Doesn't seem very stormy out. Then again, leaning on a metal rail while standing on concrete is going to get you popped. The lightning only needs to be close, not a direct hit.
Dedicated break dancer. Kept working his moves even while smouldering.
Now, man up and walk it off. Pussy.

what a bunch of fucking idiots...i guess it never occured to them to just use a towel or their shirt to smother the fire? If the lighting strike didnt kill him, the choking and smothering to death because of the extinquishers used on him should do the job (notice how he starts hacking up a lung because he is smothering on the powder?) FUCKING IDIOTS!

Unless this was a clear air burst from a nearby storm cell then my bet is this guy tossed his fishing line on an active unshielded power distribution cable. The shots of the sky in the video just don't add up to a lightning strike.

fishing pole and electricity/fry up usually means a connection with power cables, and based on the weather, not sure it was a lightning strike. Thats also why I think people may have been wary of getting too close to him, ie the current etc. Then again, I may be talking bolloks, but either way, that was a slow death coming, horible way to go.

@dunkie26
I have never seen fire on a victim, but have witnessed after a lightning strike articles of clothing that were obviously burned/charred. I have no idea about this incident. Many fishing poles are Carbon and Graphite based now, which would strongly suggest conductivity.You are carrying a lightning rod. Due to my phobia of lightning, I have done a lot of research in hopes or easing my stress. Everything I learn worsens it, lol.
