    • Dobbins used to be buzzing with activity. I used to go out there with a bunch of other guys every weekend.
Since 911 thats all over with. back in the 70's and 80's there just about everything in the inventory came through at some point including a U-2 and several SR71's.
I have a friend that has taken pictures over the years. He plans on making a book about it at some point.
He has pictures on airliners .net, his name is Frank mirande if you want to take a look.
cheers and thanks for the pic More..

  • Last military airshow I went to had hardly anything military there!

More civilian than anything else - guess everything else must be operational?

  • were they letting people on the plane in the background? (p6) The B52 has got to be one of the iconic images of the last 50 years, they always looked mean and business like, a great airplane. I bet it was quite something to talk with the crew who flew and fly these great machines.

    • they let people on board a refueling tanker,C130,C17,and a C5..the crew of the B52 were young pilots in their late twenties and one was about 32 i think. The plane in the background was a huge refueling tanker. They let people walk through transports because its harder to mess up a cargo bay if there is a accident..lol
