Hope the West stays out of it, the Saudi government and the rest of the Sunni Arabs are supporting the resistance. The difficult position of the West is that obvious Jihadi elements are fighting with the resistance and the final victory of the rebels may include a non secular government hostile
toward the west. Just don't get involved.

I support Assad because there is no way a peaceful transition will happen any time soon in Syria, he is a dictator much like Gaddafi, he will not go peacefully but he is still much better than a bunch of muslim fuckheads.

I voted for "peaceful transition" although I know that is near to impossible.
I think this whole conflict arose from legitimate concerns from the Syrian public and that it was handled completely wrong by Assad, but somewhere along the road, this Arab Spring turned into an Islamic Winter. And the uprising has be hijacked by islamists and jihadists.
I hope that Assad wins this conflict against the terrorists and then makes the changes necessary for Syria to transition to a legitimate de More..

How about "I don't particularly support Assad, but I know I sure as hell don't support the terrorists causing death and destruction by their campaign to create an international Islamic califate under Sharia law to dominate the world, which is the real deal with this so called "Arab Spring" which has fuck all to do with "democracy" or "human rights" which will all be gone if they win. So fuck them!" Why isn't that in the poll?

i support the sovereignty of a nation, therefore i support assad.
when one realizes that what is happening in the world has nothing to do with democracy, nor religion on the superficial level that it is being presented, that these are just means to an end, grist for the mill, one cannot choose any other side.
viewing the majority of comments below me, it's easy to understand why the world is the cesspool that it is. human waste.

No choice is appropriate. Syria is destroyed for a generation. The cruelty with which they've treated each other will not be forgotten for a long time I fear. Syria I know supported Iraqi insurgents while I fought there. But I honestly feel very sorry that this is happening to them. So much blood and suffering. Worst for their children.
