Touching Story: Old Shep Cradled in His Owners Arms
This 19 year old Shep being cradled in his father's arms last night in Lake Superior. Shep falls asleep every night when he is carried into the lake. The buoyancy of the water soothes his arthritic bones. Lake Superior is very warm right now, so the temp of the water is perfect.
I was so happy I got to capture this moment for John. By the way, John rescued Shep as an 8 month old puppy, and he's been by his side through many adventures :) Photo: Copyright Stonehouse Photography.

The second I read the title my eyes teared up. Over the years I've had to have 12 of my life-long pets (cats) put down when they get so old they feel nothing but pain. They brought me so much peace and love. I really think there is no love that matches the love of a pet. They make you a better human just by being with you and needing your protection and care.
