Test on bullet resistance for 7/16" steel "armor" plating

Hollywood shows us that a 1/2 piece of plywood is a safe place to hide from gunfire. To disprove this, we fire at 7/16" steel plating. A fabricator made these plates for us out of removed sections of the hull of ships. We fired 5.56mm lead tipped (softer than standard ammo) ammo and 7.62x39 FMJ out of the RPD (big gun). Both types of rounds penetrated. Check out the aftermath, and make sure you find good cover!
