Seven people suffered bumps and bruises when a V22 Osprey-an aircraft used by the U.S. Marine Corps that takes off and lands like a helicopter- ripped down tree branches that landed on spectators at an air show in Clove Lakes Park in Staten Island on Monday.

Good Day NY spoke with a Marine on Tuesday who described what happened as the Osprey was attempting to land.

"For a moment it was scary, but in a scary moment there is no one I'd rather be with than Marines. The helicopter landed and Marines along with the FDNY and NYPD offered first aid. It was mainly cuts and bruises. Seven people were taken to the hospital, " said Major Neil Murphy

There were 10 demonstrations of the V22 Osprey over the holiday weekend.

"We need to double check, triple check that no one is under the trees. Most people injured were hundreds of feet away," said Major Murphy.

As for hospital bills incurred from the treatments, Major Murphy said the Marine Corps was working with those injured. "It's an administrative thing with legal," said Major Murphy.
