Stratosphere skydive Live!!!
Stratosphere skydive
Austrian skydiver Felix Baumgartner aims to break a world record by jumping from the stratospheric altitude of 37 kilometers. In the skies over New Mexico, he hopes to break the sound barrier in under a minute after plunging from the capsule of a giant helium balloon. The skydive stunt is part of the Red Bull-sponsored event dubbed 'Mission to the Edge of Space.' http://rt.com/on-air/stratosphere-skydive-felix/

@Joe in JT Man, I was watching live on CNN too and they cut away JUST as he was about to jump. I fcking hate CNN for that and will probably never watch their shitty 'news' channel ever again just because of that bullshit they pulled. Then they cut back to him once he is about to land on the ground. What tools...

That spin high up was scary to watch. Congrats to him for getting out of it. He pulled the plug a bit early (too much fog on his screen?).

@Horgh_Ungolokh
Maybe wanted the old record of free fall to stand as a sign of respect to the old dude in mission control.
He broke all the other records

Has someone noticed that in the first seconds of the fall he was in an uncontrolled spin? or it was my impression?
Good that he finally fund the composure to gain control and made it ok.

@mcgus The atmosphere is so thin at this altitude that he couldn't stabilize himself for the first 20-30 seconds.

@UN3XIST
Ok, it is logical, without air he had no way of controlling his fall.
Thanks for the reply and your knowledge.
