  • I'm remaining out of the picture in response to this vid, I really have nothing to say except I would like to raise the point, that ultimately, it was the Iraqis who chose Saddams fate.

Because they (and Germany) were buying cheap gas from Iraq and that was all about to change with the US invasion. And they supported Saddam's grand scheme to start trading oil for Euros, in a move that would potentially have devastated the US economy.

  • Hind site is always 20/20.If you go back to weeks following sept 11,our country was in shock, in dibelief.I believe GWB genuinely believed the single biggest threat to the US at that time to possibility arm alqeada with chemicals or dirty bombs was a big concern and a good possibility.I specifically remember in the first gulf war saddam saying"war will rain down in the streets of NY city".I also IMO believe he went into Iraq with the intentions of preventing that from happening at all cost to his name to our front office and unfortunately worldwide opinions and or support...But He did it to defend our country from another horrific attack or even the possibility of something far worse...GWB Is not perfect but he was defending our nation rite or wrong that's what I believe he was doing. Now some of you may believe its oil or because his father or whatever, and that's your opinion and that's fine.I live close by to NY I remember the black purple cloud burning in the distance for months after the attack.I felt the innocents of a generation all but lost,it was a tough time and it seems like people are forgetting and I say this because of the change in public opinion from then to now....I Know its a friggin mess over there and I am not happy about that, nobody I know that lives near me is....

"I remember the black purple cloud burning
in the distance for months after the attack."

Yeah, well don't we all? I joined the Corps shortly after 9/11 when we were fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan. THAT was our 9/11 fight, not Iraq. Although the administration tried its best, and successfully, to connect the two. There was no 9/11-Iraq connection. But there IS an Al Queda-Iraq connection now.
