Quoted comment by felixdcat74: Glad we could repay the French by liberating them. After all, without their help we ( the US) wouldn't even be a country.
Agreed.
The dialogue in this film is written though, and the voices are from actors... still, the message is there.

The History I checked was that France helped us out before Wall Street even existed. And you think the Dutch have been the only ones to bail us out? I think we owe more graditude to Suadi Arabia, Japan, and China before the Dutch. I do apologize for our country telling yours what to do with it's lax Marijuana laws. Have always wanted to visit Amsterdam. By the time I get there, it sounds like you'll have as many laws as we do here, so now it's like.. What's the point? I'll just keep supporting my American growers here in the States.
Funny how the documentary shows images of the Battle of the Bulge when it comes to scenes about germans. I guess they had to use the continuity images they had available at the time.
Finally, I will never get tired of repeating that the first soldiers to enter Paris were Spanish republicans from the French 2eme DB. Their vehicles were named after famous Spanish Civil War battles. Most of them were fighting against fascism nonstop since 1936.
Liberating the French is kind of like protecting your 12 year old brother from an ass whooping by a 9 year old soon to be lesbian chick from kicking his ass. I'm sorry, had to say it.
