Another commute to Detroit

This is the fourth building fire I've seen on my drive to work in Detroit.... the sad thing is I actually don't find it unusual now. This one is on Michigan avenue, right next to the old train station.

  • May as well burn the rest down and turn the city into a forest preserve.

  • The Detroit Fire Department is considering letting structures on fire just burn themselves out if there is no danger to neighboring buildings or people.

  • You forget to mention that there is an arsonist running loose in Detroit right now. Not to say this couldn't just be a normal fire but there were like 5 or 6 suspicious fires the other day...

  • That does not surprise me with Detroit's unemployment rate at around 30 percent. A business has two choices: File for Bankruptcy and loose everything or burn the building and collect the insurance for contents, structure and maybe even Business Continuation.

Yep how is that Barry's Hope and Change working for ya.

Actually Devil's night is Oct 30th so you would be a day late if you went looking then. And in the past few years they have really cut down on the number of fires that happen even on devils night. With that said though Detroit burns every year on Oct 30th count on it!

It all started in Detroit lol! I'm sorry to hear that though it's a damn shame people want to be arsonists putting everyone in danger. I would vote for public beatings and the stockade for anyone caught doing that shit.

  • Pretty sad. I saw some interesting clips of 1940's - 1950's Detroit yesterday; a stark contrast of today indeed.

What is really sad is that some of the historic sites are now just rotting shells.

For anyone who has never seen it check a few vids out, scary.

Look at your liberal run states. Massive hand outs contribute to lawlessness. With one of the highest rates of unemployement you would think these people would move.... oh no.... why should they. It is a play ground for the lawless and we pick up the tab. Way to go liberal politicians.

I know, handouts and special considerations hurt far more than they help. It kills work ethic and personal drive.

These people that get aid don't use it for a temporary relief, it is a way of life and eventually becomes the norm for entire generations.

    • @Scarrfo

You are correct. And when you get handouts you get board due to not working and then you set things on fire.
