They are smart little bastards. They even have them returning change in some cities. They pick up coins on the ground, bring it to a little drop off and they get a little treat dispensed.

What kind of tools? I know chimps also use tools but I didn't think any other animals really did.

In one video I've seen the crow is given miscellaneous objects in a closed room and a treat in a clear plastic tube.
The crow chooses from the objects he is given,a paper clip that he bends into the shape of a hook to retrieve the treat.
In an other one the treat is in the same plastic tube but is floating on water but still out of reach of his beak.
So he drops pebbles in the tube until it raises the water level sufficiently for him to reach the treat.

Isn't that a 'magpie' to you. Crows are black and only black here. Please correct me if I am wrong. But that was not shot in the western hemisphere? Lil help from anyone...?
I do understand that they are very closely related. And they are so underestimated by most, in terms of intelligence and ability to learn. THey are quite amazing in that regard!!

@rmg03c Crows, ravens, minah birds, and magpies are all from the same bird family.

@The Judge I mentioned that in my response. But my question was and not answered. It is as follows:
I may be misinformed. I didn't think that the bird in the vid lives in the sates. anyone out there who knows more than I on the subject, chime in.
Where are you, judge?

@rmg03c I'm in Europe, em... I would have thought crows were all over the western hemisphere, no?

@The Judge
Yes, they are. But, as I had mentioned earlier, here, they are all black. Wings, body, head; all the same color: Black. Not like the creature in the vid.
I am just wondering if I have that part wrong. I certainly could. I could even just answer my question myself by research. But like the interaction...!

@Snoof Magpies (same family as the crow) are black and white, not grey and white, this is a hooded crow.
