Yeah, I'm here on the Gulf right now but planning a move. Hurricanes are by far the nastiest of natural disasters. You can bet ever thing in a 100 mile radius along the coast and up to 30 miles inland is generally Fubared beyond belief. Now, when I say that, people might think a few trees down. But no. I'm talking complete and utter destruction of homes, farms, buildings, infrastructure and vegetation. Think no leaves on the trees. Extreme heat and humidity with air conditioning,Bugs, bugs and more More..

Thanks for your insight. Only someone who has first-hand experience would be aware of what you describe. I am sure people's lives get changed forever.

When you think you have worries and problems remember there are people that have it worse than you.
On a good note some lucky guy gets to tell his Insurance his home burnt meaning it is covered. I shouldn't say that but as much cleaning and chainsawing I did while living in Florida you learn some things. I smiled because my roof was gone and it blew off which meant it was covered. Please think about these people.

hurricanes are bad the second hand of god I just do not understand why people would not evacuate. I went through a very bad flood watched 4 grown men try to save 18wheelers in a flood. My own brother climed electrical wires that were downed trying to save them they all perished. (not my brother at that time) But these people were warned they are houses not lives! I feel so bad for them but the loss of life is worth so much more than saving a house. I saw geraldo get hit last night on live TV?? More..
