NORWOOD, Ohio - Surveillance video taken inside the Norwood Police
Department is being reviewed by a special prosecutor assigned to
investigate a case of alleged misconduct by a Norwood police officer.
Norwood police officer Robert Ward is accused of assaulting a woman in handcuffs-- allegedly breaking her arm.
The investigation by the special prosecutor from Columbus, Ohio is ongoing.

All police video, patrol and facilities, should be automatically uploaded to an independent agency for storage and review when requested.
Otherwise, it seems to go missing when bad things happen.

I met a cop like that guy recently. He massed probably 150 kilos (330 lbs), about 2 meters tall (6'6"), and a complete, unmitigated, brutal, arrogant ASS. Very intimidating, but strangely pathetic. Stupidity can somehow reduce a man to a shrunken caricature.

I've had very good relations with a handful of officers over time. Long conversations over coffee, that sort of thing. They've uniformly been very good people; you might say I choose my friends carefully.
Privately, they will say scathing, bitter things about their more brutal and uncaring colleagues. Most of the time without specifics, though, and rarely naming names.
Anyway, one such guy who "gets it" told me wryly that suspension with pay is more like a pat on the More..
