Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has captured a US ScanEagle drone over the Persian Gulf waters upon its intrusion into the Iranian airspace.

IRGC Navy Commander Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi made the announcement on Tuesday, adding that the Iranian armed forces enjoy full intelligence command over foreign movements in the Persian Gulf region.

Referring to the captured ScanEagle drone, the Iranian commander pointed out, "Such drones are usually launched from large aircraft carriers."

The ScanEagle drone, which has a 10ft (3m) wingspan, is a long-endurance aircraft built by Insitu, a subsidiary of Boeing.Iran has released footage of the captured drone.

  • Audio for video: "We have captured this US drone. As you can see, it has wings. Allah snackbar. Now if you pet it, it feels smooth. I want to point around with my hand and make subtle gestures with it as well as I believe it makes me look more dignified. Allah snakbar. Gray is a neutral color, not unlike that of an elephant or clay. Gray, gray, wash that gray away. Allah snackbar."

      Love it!
"And here we have what looks like a very important part of this mystical device. It looks.. yes, it looks like, uh... a wing! Eureka!! Ha, we steal this important techology from the great satan! Allah Snackbar."

If these dorks only knew how stupid they look. But then, Muslims are good at looking like complete dumbasses AND being oblivious to it at the same time.

  • Entering your air space my ass.

Amazing how they can bring it down without any damage like that...

Even though it would have crash landed into the water at speed.

  • Why are the Iranian just not letting us have our way with them? I hate this. We spend billions on this technology, and they just hack these and make their own. They need to just bend over and let us ass fuck them, like we do to other nations. I am getting sick of hearing countries standing up against our invasions and spying.

  • If we don't want them picking our drones out of the sand then we need to load them with something that will make a very large crater when they try.

  • Self-destruct!

They should equip these drones with a small charge that will detonate by remote control or after they've lost connection with home base for a predetermined amount of time.

Same way they did the last one. They hacked the systems and flew it themselves and landed it.

    • @Impeller It is possible to intercept management and to put drone there where it is necessary for you!

    • @Muslim_Soldier Wonder if this things run on the Navstar GPS, L2 frequencies. If they do, they probably use some sort of signal detectors, for then to superimpose the signal thru a GBAS station or something like that. Anyways... would be nice to know more about those flying squirrels!:)

  • All the pointing is 100% cheese.
It's like "Here's a wing (point). Here's an aileron (point). Here's a vertical stabilizer (point). Here is a propeller (point). Here's an elevator (point).

Cheesy, childish, and stupid. And so is the "We will trample the U.S." sign.

  • What I don't understand is, how do you capture a drone. Or do they mean or do they should say, it crashed and they've found it.

    Posted Dec-4-2012 By

    • @esthero Not necessary, maybe they got the key or the technology to infiltrate into the drone system and send other command controls instead the commands sent from the US control.

      Posted Dec-4-2012 By

      (0) | Report

    • @esthero More importantly, how does an operating in Langley operate a drone in Iran?
      Via a datalink, of course.
It is therefor susceptible to electronic attack and hostile control.
Our western technology is not impervious

      Posted Dec-4-2012 By

      (1) | Report

    • @esthero From what I read on some drone experts, they capture by tricking the computer system and basically hacking it, they then guide it from there like a remote controller and simply land the bird on their territory.

    • @BANAADIRBOY Hacking the GPS and downlink signal is part of the equation but also it is needed to superimpose a false video stream onto the operators screen so he/she doesnt realize they aren't in control anymore.
Voila, you have "virtually" commandeered an enemy spy aircraft.
