Yes it's The quite Earth. One of my favorite cult classics. The ending is awesome! He ends up on some alternate alien Earth.
I think this movie somehow influenced Stephen King in his "The Langoliers" too.

I am terribly sorry if I'm not cordial enough. Honestly, I mean well... I just have a fucked up way of expressing it.
Now, how can there be an intelligent and polite conversation about shitty b-rated flicks with bared-assed room servants and horrible dialogue? And why not just come out with the title upfront if you're trying to introduce people to the movie?
