      They didnt want to use biological weapons on the US, because they found it to be too inhumane. A little time later the US bombed Japan with atomic weapons.

  • It seems that many people forget how the japanese behaved with the conquered people of the countries they invaded, especially the Chinese.

    I think the reason why they did not attack the US with biological weapons was not because they considered it a "crime against humanity", but because they feared the payback.

    The book "Horror in the east", by Laurence Reese is a good eye opener.

    • @mcgus The reason they didn't attack the US with biological weapons is because the US nuked them before they had the chance. These subs were PURPOSE BUILT weapons to deliver biologicals. PERIOD. The Japs were beat to the punch and, once the US used a nuke, they feared that any bio attack would amount to national suicide. Which it certainly would have. I think Truman would have killed them all and turned Japan into a US base in the East.

      Well, I think they the only real chance of hitting the US with bio weapons was at the beginning of the war. In much later stages they had little opportunity to do it. Just look at the poor and desperate attempt of reaching the US in 1944 and 1945 with the bakudan fire balloons aimed at setting American forests on fire.

    • @mcgus They didn't have bios early in the war. Unit 731 was busy researching and developing them at that stage. Nothing actually deliverable until the later years.

      I think they didn't attack because their figure head was assassinated by the Americans. Im not so sure that the attack would have shaken Americans soon enough because of the invention of the atomic bomb.
