  • A difference you'll notice between the videos of Brits and Americans fighting is that the Brits almost always seem to be fighting from heavily fortified bases (and oddly on flat land). Americans are usually highly exposed in vehicles or on foot patrol, up in the mountains and valleys.

    • I disagree. The terrain plays a major factor. Hemand is a lot flatter and desert like, other than the green zone that is lush vegetation. I can understand that the Brits just aren't filming when on patrol, and also maybe when they are in contact they set up in buildings. I mean hard to do that when you are in a mountain pass in Patika or Wardak. Then again a lot of the famous 2006 Para videos were from remote FOBs where they were heavily out numbered and attacked constantly. Makes it hard to pat More..

    • This is simply because the British area of operations in in the flat green zone where the poppies grow and the US op's are in the mountains.

      They are often seen defending their camps as they are heavily outnumbered and do not have the numbers to hold ground. Despite this they regularly conduct aggressive patrols against the enemy.

      You could also say there's far less cover in the flat open exposed green zone where the fighting occurs.

  • they should give all troops sniper rifles and machine guns as a secondary weapon when posted

    at that far range your not hitting sht, i can understand when going out on patrol but when posted if they all had sniper rifles they would waste less ammo and would have nothign but headshots

    and the insurgents are not going to get close to the base so you could just take it easy and sharp shoot
