I know it's ancient but damn I love this plane. It's like all the decent oddball r&d I'd dead these days.

Gorgeous! Saw one at an airshow back in 1981 - I'd been all excited to see an F-16 for the 1st time, but this bird is the one that I remember with affection.

Beautiful old warbird.I miss seeing them in the sky like i did as a child. Its a real shame though because apparently at the end of 2013 this plane will be grounded forever due to the engines etc comming to the end of their lifespan and costing multiple millions to replace.

Wow! that looks more like a calculated stall than a landing!

@jfm8561
Landings are calculated stalls. That's how I was trained to fly at least unless there's a crosswind. You just get it over the runway at the right speed and height and let it mush itself in.

@SlipperyWhenWet fuck mitt romney.
on another note. i've seen this beautiful aircraft fly many times. I'm from near bristol, UK where many were based. although a nuclear strike aircraft at the height of the cold war, the likleyhood of our V-bomber force reaching their targets was extremely hopeful. NATOs only real neclear deterrent was our missile subs.
the vulcan was still ahead of it's time. a performance envalope that puts the b-52 to shame.

@SlipperyWhenWet you don't know what you're talking about son. The Vulcan outperforms the b-47 in almost every aspect of the flight envelope.
Would you like me to post some figures?
