For the first time the heroics of former policeman Stephen de Lorenzo are here to be seen.
The NSW District Court has today lifted a suppression order against the CCTV footage of an armed robbery at The Lakes Hotel in Rosebery in 2009 in which Sgt de Lorenzo was shot.
The court also released Sgt de Lorenzo's taser cam vision, which shows him firing the taser at gunman Tevi Kaloamatangi and then, moments later, turning again to see Koloamatangi raise his .357 Magnum and shoot at Sgt de Lorenzo.
The white flash can dramatically be seen.
The shooter, Koloamatangi, was found guilty last week of shooting with intent to murder.
In the footage, Sgt de Lorenzo can be seen arming his taser (when the light comes on), and walking down alongside the bar inside the hotel where Koloamatangi had three men hostage.
It then switches to the black and white taser vision, which also comes with sound.
Sgt de Lorenzo can be heard telling Koloamatangi to get down.
After Koloamatangi fires, the CCTV footage shows Sgt de Lorenzo retreating before returning with a Glock pistol and a bullet proof vest.
He then shoots Kolomatangi, grazing his forehead, while also being wounded in the shoulder.
Dust can be seen falling from the downlights during the gunfight.
