April 14, 2005 Homeland Security Checkpoint Stop
The first time I was stopped at a Homeland Security Checkpoint was on April 14, 2005. Having been stopped and arrested at an illegal joint task force roadblock conducted by tribal police, U.S. Customs, and the Border Patrol several years earlier - merely for asking a few questions, I always make sure to carry a camera with me when traveling along this road.

As an American, you are an Idiot. First of all if you have nothing to hide then let them ask and answer the questions. You came off as an asshole in this video. Poeple like u deserve the full border patrol treatment, because you think that the security of the rest of the citizens of America is a joke. You must live in southern Arizona.
So you must know of the MASSIVE amount of illegal immigrants and drug traffickers that pass through southern Arizona.
You must work in Arizona so you HAD to have seen the MASSIVE number of illegal workers here in various businesses. You would have seen the change in the construction workforce these past 20 years and the wages barely move. Try being a contractor. The amount of illegal workers was absurd. Nor is there any draw from our youth for apprenticeship from these folks.
The rest hung out at any Home Depot or such by the dozens looking for cash work.
The Mayday strike/protest, Sheriff Joe Arpaio and the economy has changed much of that in Maricopa County these past years.

I went javelina hunting near Arivaca recently.
The desert is covered for miles with trash form these folks. This is 20 miles from the border and 15 miles from the freeway in the middle of nowhere.
Every night 5-6 pickup trucks loaded to the brim with people, front and back, would pass our camp with the lights out in pitch dark.
That stop was no different than a border patrol checkpoint which are all over that area.
These folks need to be out there and you should be THANKING them.

How are they providing "security" by asking everyone that pulls up they're a US citizen? That proves what? Absolutely nothing.
My main problem is that this is 40 miles into the US not on the US border where you'd expect them to ask these questions.
You state he sites the constitution for his own benefit. GMAN that's what it's there for.
From my own experience, about 10 years ago I was in South Padre Island off the the coast of Texas. I hit one of these so called Immigration points 40 or so miles inside the US. Just so eveyone know South Padre is part of Texas not Mexico so I never left the USA.
The agent stopped me asked me the are you a citizen question to which I replied yes. Then he "asked" to search my trunk. I asked him why and he verbally assulted me with "if you don't we know your hiding something and we're going to pull your car apart."
That wouldn't happend today partially due to people like Checkpoint USA, I now know they're full of BS and like to push you into submission.
If they can do this 40 miles in, then why not 400 or 4000. Why not have checkpoints all across the USA, there are plenty of illegals is Chicago, San Francisco, Miami, Boston, New York.

They let him continue on his way. They have always let him continue on his way. I believe this is because he is not doing anything unlawful at this type of checkpoint, therefore they have no lawful reason to detain him any further.
