KABUL (BNO NEWS) — Ten coalition service members were killed in a series of deadly attacks against NATO forces in eastern and southern Afghanistan on Monday, NATO said.
Five coalition service members were killed following an improvised explosive device (IED) attack in eastern Afghanistan, while two others were killed in a separate IED explosion in southern Afghanistan.
In other operations, one NATO service member died as a result of small-arms fire in southern Afghanistan. In another attack, also in southern Afghanistan, one NATO service member was killed in an IED explosion.
In an attack in eastern Afghanistan, one coalition service member was killed as a result of small-arms fire.
Ten fatalities make Monday one of the most deadliest days for coalition troops in Afghanistan so far this year.
