A parking garage under construction on
Miami Dade College's Doral campus collapsed late Wednesday morning,
killing one of the workers injured or trapped inside.

Four floors of the structure collapsed in pancake fashion around 11:40
a.m. No students were inside the garage when it fell, but Miami-Dade
Fire Rescue spokesman Lt. Arnold Piedrahita said two workers remain
trapped but located after as many as 50 were initially unaccounted for
in the aftermath.

One person has been confirmed dead, Four people
have been transported to a local hospital, and three were treated on
scene (view raw footage of the scene below).

Piedrahita said
between 8 or 10 of the workers escaped the collapse with minor injuries.
First responders made contact with survivors calling for help in the
rubble, and were evaluating the structural integrity of the building as
heavy rain swept the area.
